Employee Appreciation and Hokie Wellness Fair

Faculty, staff, and non-student wage employees, local to the Blacksburg campus and surrounding region were invited to attend the Employee Appreciation and Hokie Wellness Fair on Wednesday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Lane Stadium.

This year included:

The Hokie Wellness Fair, co-sponsored by Grant Irby with University and Main Real Estate Group, Truist Bank, and Warm Hearth Village, hosted more than 90 benefits, health, wellness, and other exhibitors
Music by DJ Flex
On-site health screenings
15-minute massages
Fun games to include cornhole, jenga, checkers, and more
VT Therapy Dogs, Josie, Epcot and Derek, were on hand for lots of petting
Vaccinations were given by Blacksburg Pharmacy to include Covid-19, RSV, pneumococcal/pneumonia, shingles, tetanus/whooping cough, and Hepatitis A and B.
A food drive, sponsored by Hokie Wellness, was set up for The Market at Virginia Tech to help students with food insecurity. Visit the website for a list of needs.
The Virginia Tech Transportation Institute’s (VTTI) Sharing the Road with Trucks program provided in the driver’s seat participation to witness the unique challenges truck drivers face and learn more about how to drive in harmony with trucks in the process.
American Red Cross Blood Drive
A complimentary lunch with various concession options such as pizza, hot dogs, chicken tenders, tacos, and quesadillas; a gluten-free station; ice cream; and and popcorn!
