Employee Appreciation and Hokie Wellness Fair
Faculty, staff, and non-student wage employees, local to the Blacksburg campus and surrounding region are invited to attend the Employee Appreciation and Hokie Wellness Fair on Wednesday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Lane Stadium. Note: This is an employee-only event; family members will not be able to attend.
Lunch will be available in the South End Zone during the entire event. The concession stands will serve Beyond Meat burgers, BBQ pork, grilled chicken, and fried chicken sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, kettle chips, small salads, brownies, cookies, and drinks. Grab-and-Go stations will be serving turkey wraps, chips, and cookies. A gluten free station will serve Beyond Meat burgers or grilled chicken sandwiches on gluten free rolls, salads, and brownies. Popcorn and water will be available on the East Concourse and ice cream will be available at Gate 3.
Employees can:
- Relax and enjoy music by DJ Flex.
- Show off a competitive side by playing corn hole, ladder ball, bocce ball, big connect 4, Jenga, spike ball, bucket ball, foam checkers, inflatable soccer, and inflatable football.
- Access the Avery Tunnel that leads onto the field at Lane Stadium and touch the Hokie Stone.
- Watch the jumbotron showcasing employee photos, videos, or live speakers.
- Capture the fun through a 360-degree video booth or photo booth, and more.
Also, the Hokie Wellness Fair, sponsored by Warm Hearth Village and Home2 Suites by Hilton, will host a wide variety of benefits, health and wellness, and approximately 60 exhibitors. Wellness Fair events include:
- Vaccinations to include Tdap and shingles.
- Health screenings to include blood pressure and diabetes risk assessment.
- Walking groups.
- Appearances from all three Virginia Tech Cook Counseling Center therapy dogs, and more.
The following service will be available through a lottery drawing:
- 15-minute massages
Employees interested in the lottery for a massage have to sign up by 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 7. Employees will be notified and must accept their win by Friday, May 10. If a selected winner is unable to attend, an alternate will be selected and notified prior to the event
Employees do not need a parking permit to attend the event and can park in Lane Stadium Lot 2. There are ADA spaces available in the stadium lot on the South end of Lane Stadium. Lane Stadium Gate 2, directly across from the ADA spaces, serves as the ADA entrance. All others can enter through gates 1, 2, or 3. View the event parking map for more details.
Employees should bring their Hokie Passport or Employee ID number to check in at the event.
