Jeff Cumberland
Director of Talent Acquisition

In his role, Jeff focuses on HR’s Talent Acquisition team and services,  including recruitment, university onboarding, local outreach and engagement, and reporting and data analysis in regards to Talent Acquisition and hiring data. Among the many services his team now provides is internally supporting executive searches, saving the university thousands of dollars in outside fees. Additionally, Jeff implemented and continues to improve the PageUp applicant tracking system to make recruiting for and applying for jobs easier for business partners and candidates.

Prior to joining Virginia Tech, Jeff served at Aerotek recruiting. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bridgewater College and a master’s of business administration from Radford University.


Jared Bralley
Recruiter

Jared supports a number senior management areas across the university with their recruiting and staffing needs. With a focus on identifying and attracting top talent, Jared ensures that the university maintains a strong and capable workforce to meet its strategic goals.

Prior to joining Virginia Tech, Jared served as a recruiter at Aerotek in Charleston, SC. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management with a concentration in Human Resources from Virginia Tech. In his free time, he enjoys being with his family and working on small projects around the house.


Ashley Carter
Community and Engagement Recruitment Specialist

A graduate from Virginia Tech and an active community member, Ashley believes strong relationships are key to bridging gaps in our workforce. In her role, she serves as a liaison between community organizations and local schools to build partnerships and showcase career paths available at Virginia Tech. The need to bring high quality work- based learning opportunities to students is vital to building a talent pipeline.

Ashley strives to listen and meet the needs of both educators, students, and Virginia Tech departments. Ashley is eager to make more connections, learn about new initiatives and develop better programming like Tech Tracks, an annual event for high school juniors to visit campus and hear from department experts about careers offered at Virginia Tech. Ryan Flanary
Technical Recruiter

Ryan plays an essential role in attracting world class faculty and staff to Virginia Tech and has a direct impact on the talent acquisition process in creating the future of the university. Focusing on the recruitment of information technology professionals, Ryan executes a comprehensive recruitment strategy to attract and source candidates for a wide range of skill sets across all senior management areas.  Partnering with hiring managers and senior staff members, Ryan assists in the full lifecycle of sourcing candidates, developing marketing approaches, recruitment pipelines, and selection strategies.


Jessica Grimes
Employee Engagement and Onboarding Coordinator

Jessica is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing a best-in-class onboarding program for the more than 1000 new employees Virginia Tech hires each year. These programs ensure that new employees are comfortable before their first day and will help guide new employees through their first year. She works closely with her HR partners as well as critical partners across Virginia Tech’s campus to ensure a holistic and comprehensive onboarding experience for new employees.


Enrique Noyola 
Recruiter

Enrique plays a pivotal role in bringing world-class faculty and staff to Virginia Tech while supporting senior management across the university by developing and executing comprehensive recruitment plans to attract top diverse candidates. He is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment, enhancing the university’s recruitment pipeline, and is passionate about the Virginia Tech community.

With a background in software, sales, and tech and, as a U.S. Army Veteran, Enrique holds a bachelor's degree from Southern New Hampshire University, a bachelor's in business administration in supply chain from The University of Texas at Austin, and is currently pursuing a master's dregree in business administration at Radford University. In his free time, Enrique enjoys hiking, working out, traveling, and spending time with his two dogs.
