HR Analytics and Reporting

The HR Analytics and Reporting team provides insights and analysis into the Virginia Tech workforce. This team is available to help with a variety of employee-related statistics. See below for additional information and resources. 

Analytics

Analytics is a tool used to help make business decisions by looking at data and facts. The HR Analytics and Reporting team is available to help develop measures to include summary statistics and visualizations.  Analysis is available on an as-needed basis in addition to regularly published reports.

Consulting

If you are interested in understanding information better but not sure the right approach, the team can  help review and assess needs.  Once decisions are made, the team can help complete the analysis.

Survey design consulting is also available. The team can help review survey structure, questions, and schedule to assure the best results possible. The university is in the process of transitioning between two survey software tools. The timeline will determine what software is suggested to use.  

Reporting

Data can be extracted for reporting usage or employee management. This data is carefully governed and available only to those with the proper user permissions based on their role at the university. To request a specific report, please visit this page. All requests are reviewed to ensure data is available with the correct granularity. If there are any questions regarding the use or need of your report, the request will be reviewed by the HR Data Access Review Committee that meets every two weeks.
