Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) provide help to Virginia Tech employees and members of their family in many areas, including stress-related problems, emotional difficulties, alcohol or drug problems, family and relationship troubles, parenting concerns, conflicts at work or home, financial and legal issues, and other personal concerns.
Virgina Tech offers employees access to EAPs through state health care providers. Individuals who are not enrolled in a state-provided health insurance plan may access EAP services through Anthem.
Getting help with EAP is simple, convenient, and confidential. Employees may contact the programs directly at the numbers listed below, visit the online portals, or contact Hokie Wellness for assistance. A mental health professional is available 24/7 by phone to talk if needed. Free mental health counseling (up to 4 sessions) is included in EAP services.
When contacting EAPs online or by phone, use Commonwealth of Virginia or COVA as the company name or access code — not Virginia Tech.
Anthem EAP
Employees enrolled in Anthem's health plan and employees not enrolled in a state health plan*, along with their household members and dependents, have access to the EAP provided by Anthem.
