Hybrid Plan Auto Escalation

Voluntary contributions will automatically increase by 0.5 percent, every three years until reaching 4 percent. The auto escalation does not affect employees already contributing the maximum of 4 percent to the VRS Hybrid Voluntary Defined Contribution portion. The next Auto-Escalation will occur January 2026.

Members who do not want an automatic increase may opt out between December 1, 2025 at 9 a.m. and December 31, 2025 at 4 p.m.

Members can opt out by logging in to their account at dcp.varetire.org/login or by calling 877-327-5261 to speak with a customer service associate. Customer service associates are available on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET, excluding stock market holidays. Members may visit the hybrid member website to learn more.
